Birmingham have added Holland Under-21 winger Daniel de Ridder to their squad for the new Barclays Premier League season.

The 23-year-old, who was part of his country’s successful European Under-21 Championship campaign, was out of contract with Spanish side Celta Vigo.

Birmingham manager said: "He is very, very versatile and will be a fantastic addition to the squad. We're delighted he's come to join us."

De Ridder is City’s fifth signing of the summer so far after Fabrice Muamba, Stuart Parnaby, Garry O’Connor and Olivier Kapo.

De Ridder has all the tools to be the next big thing, just as Christiano Ronaldo.

He plays the same way....loads of tricks....loves to get to the byline....loves to beat his man.

I watched all his games in the U21's and he was one of the "standout" players, as good as Drenth, who is expected to move to a premiership club for 8mil.
