Thanks for posting your videos of old HK on youtube... that's an amazing resource.
Hi Michael,
I was fortunate enough to come across your fabulous clips of Hong Kong back in the day. Whilst on my way to work this morning, I found myself staring at the MTR television screens. MTR are currently holding a photographic competition re the history of Hong Kong, and if your videos are anything to go by, I suspect you will have some awesome still shots. Details of the competition are on the MTR website www.mtr.com.hk
I think your video clips should be shared with all of Hong Kong. Good luck and I hope to see them soon.
Warmest regards
Julie Barras
Hello,
I saw your footage of Kuala Lumpur in 1961 and was quite blown away. My grandmother lived there at that time )well most of her life, and I have been researching her life. I got a feel for the place. When she visited us in Montreal in 1967, our city must have seemed a pokey backwater.

I enjoyed your videos of old Port Swettenham, Hong Kong, Bombay, Suez, Japan, etc. I sailed as a junior officer on the SS President Jackson and made three trips around the world in 1967 and 1968. After that, I sailed transpacific and tramped with various US Flag Steamship companies in the Pacific and points beyond. Your videos brought back many memories of those cherished times from my youth. Today I'm a ship's pilot in San Francisco. The changes in the maritime industry have been revolutionary. I recall the "old days" with joy. Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge and videos.
Hello,
Thanks for your wonderful website! I am particularly interested in Hong Kong history. Your films are amazing. Is it possible to purchase DVDs of the Hong Kong footage?
