Frederik,
I find you work very interesting.
I teach at the Facolty of Design / Polytecnic University of Milano, Italy.
Your thesis work is being adopted as a reading required text in our Design Workshop, as the design theme is about HPVs.
If you ever come by in Milano, drop me an email!

Your report made a lot of technical data understandable for me. I have been studying the history of the Finnsih velomobile more from the cultural history perspective, but I was still surprised to find my name in your references. Some of my text is readable at

I fulfilled my 45 years old dream to have a velomobile recently as I got a second hand Mango. Looking forward to have something you described: a beautiful and comfortable thing you can step in without being an acrobat.

Frederik,

Just one error of fact that I noted on page 46. (I must stand up for my fellow country-man, after all). Curt Harnett is Canadian. One of best track athletes ever. Otherwise, I have no substantial critical points.

Thanks so much Frederik for putting together this framework in which to view and think about the fit of the velomobile in the larger context of society. Your thesis really congealed the thoughts and feelings that have been roaming around in my head as I have been designing and building my own velomobile for the last 2 years. So I appreciate the theoretical and practical aspects that you presented.

I'm still not sure that the velomobile 'fits' very well into any exisiting definitions of a road-going vehicle as even with standard recumbents people are still awe-struck by the appearance. With a velomobile, the reaction is more or less one of utter surprise. Still, I think the potential is there that it could fit the vast gap between a bike and a car, someday.

Bravo! an excellent argument to place the velomobile into the rigid minds of others.
I like the 4 way diagram showing the new place for the velomobile.
I can now describe the subject with athority with family and friends!

Schitterend werk, echt fantastisch!
Zoiets was ik al een tijdje aan het zoeken.
