I stumbled upon your site while reseaching radioman/gunner William C. Miller who was one of the first casulties at Pearl Harbor as well as one of the first to shoot down a Japanese plane. Miller was from my hometown of Thomasville, North Carolina, (furniture town).Born in 1917,my father, Frank Ingram lied about his age during the depression and served in the Navy form 1933 to 1940. After Pearl Harbor, he went into the Merchant Marines as an officer till the end of the war. He had his nose shot off from an exploding shell and had to get it sewed back on.He went on to own Ingram Plywoods and was the first to manufacture curved plywood in the US using his trademarked machine which used sound waves to bend the plywood. I served in the Navy from 1980 to 1984. I am starting the American Music Museum (americanmusicmuseum.com) and will have music and war stories from these years in the museum when it is completed. I enjoy your web site and the history it preserves. Curtis Ingram

My father was the Division Signal Officer of the 102nd Infantry from Texas to the end of the War. He is 94, living by himself in his own house in California. Great Guy. Keep up the super web site.

My father was in 101st 501st G Co. then after the company was wiped out in the Ardenne by the 88's my father and the few surviving members of 501PIR - G-Co. were put in the 506th E Co. for the remainder of the war. My father was wounded two times during Operation Market Garden. He raised four sons three of which have served in the military. He later served three tours in Vietnam and retired as the post CSM of Fort Lewis WA in 1974.

He was laid to rest in 2004 at the military cemetery in NH with full military honors courtesy of Fort Drum NY.

would all young DUTCH men kept a www site like yours.
It is an honor to be a part of it and you- in your chosen profession-( lawyer) have a gift for words.
When I was in the Army in Germany in 1944-45 I was 23 years old and with a BM degree-- In those days we didnt have the Inter net so what was saved was either Typed of hand written. In 1945-46 I sat down and wrote by hand- my report and that has been a part of the document now called the " Kitchen History" which played a part in the meeting of myself and you and your family in Voerendal last July 2005.
May the Good LORD bless you and keep you safe Kind regards-- Ed Souder gtfcs@aol.com
